Airport Operations Monitor

The Airport Operations Monitor was developed for the FAA
to improve the monitoring of aircraft on taxiways during low
visibility conditions.

This system consists of a Linux server communicating with
detectors on taxiways via RF links. Messages from the
detectors are stored in a MySQL database and forwarded in
near real time to viewer applications such as shown on the
right. Viewers for Linux and Microsoft Windows were developed.
The viewers communicate with the server via the Internet.

The applications software was written in C++ with OpenGL used
for graphics displays.
